Vivid Sydney

We recently visited Vivid Sydney, for those of you who aren’t familiar with it, it’s an interactive festival of lights located around Sydney Harbour – you may notice a fairly familiar landmark looking a little bit different to how you usually see it!

It gave me a chance to try out my other new lens – the gorgeous Canon 70 – 200mm L USM II. I love it, although I do look a bit like the paparazzi with it slung at my side

The Zeiss

I was very lucky to be given a beautiful Zeiss 50mm for my birthday recently. It is the first lens I’ve owned with such shallow depth of field which I love, but takes a bit of getting used to!

I took it away with us for Mother’s Day to have a play (and discovered I seem to have a thing for piers lately!). It was almost completely dark in the shore shot but having 1.4f to play with makes that a walk in the park

Being up at 5.30am on a Saturday to drive 30kms is not my favourite thing to do – but I was comforted in the fact that I wasn’t running that distance (like my marathon training husband) and it was all made worth it when I was greeted with this.
